Loves

So, what is my problem lately?

I don't know, and I don't really want to know.
I am over it.
I am changing gears and spreading the love.
I love...
  • A phone call from a sweet woman in my neighborhood. She lost her daughter at the age of eleven, due to a genetic condition, and wanted to say that she "loves me and understands."
  • Car rides home from dance with Abby - just us. I learn more about her precious life in those 15 minutes, than I do all week.
  • The elderly woman who came to me with tears in her eyes today while eating lunch at the mall. She said, "I just couldn't keep my eyes off your son. You are so lucky." She then went on to tell me about her grandson with cerebral palsy. He is 12, tube-fed, and blind.
  • The new Quicksilver beanie I bought Deak.

He is such a rockstar.

  • My husband for dealing with the craziness and doing the dishes - two things I appreciate more than he knows.
  • Playing with Deak. Yesterday he screamed at me from across the room. When I got to him I asked him what he wanted. He held up his toy and handed it to me. I then asked him if he wanted me to play. He replied, "Ah."
  • Abby's friends. Whatever guilt I own for Abby's lack of siblings is compensated for by the ample amount of sweet little friends, both at home and at school. They brighten Abby's day, and are always welcome at my home.
  • Friends and Family who are generous with their time and love for me. Thank you for the dinners, nights out, lunches and adventures:).
  • Sales and Free money. Although I haven't figured out how to get the second one yet.
  • My sister and friends who are pregnant. I wish their little babies would come sooner so I could cuddle and kiss them.

So.. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, no more gripes.
(At least for today.)

I could just squeeze Deak all the way from San Diego. I honestly can not stand how cute he is. Thank you again for the post and reminding me to think about my own "loves" instead of how many things that bother me on a daily basis (which I am much more prone to doing.) Yet once again...you inspire. P.S. If you figure out how to get that free money, please let me in on the secret.

Deak looks cute in that beanie! I'm glad the babys not here I am definetly not ready. But when it is time you will be needed often for cuddles I'm sure!

Okay, I love this post. And the funny thing is, I just read two like it from both Ashleys that student taught fourth grade last year. Heritage must attract really great people. :)
I think it's easy to get wrapped up in life... especially when we're so busy. What a great opportunity to sit down and think about all the great things we deal with too. You are so positive and you have such a good perspective on tough situations.
Thanks for this post!

Great post Jenny- great reminder! Makes me feel even worse about the fact that I haven't stuck to my resolution of keeping my gratitude journal. There is such truth in the fact that when you carry gratitude in your heart, you find such much more happiness. That happiness has always been there- just is harder to see it when you have other "stuff" clouding your vision. Also- love Deak's new beanie! He's one styling boy!
