What Budget?

It's a well known fact of those who love me:
I spend money when I'm worried/stressed...okay and maybe just happy.
It's not good.
Not insane amounts of it (as if I have insane amounts to spend), but large enough to do some damage.
Today, I just realized I've spent my entire two weeks budget for gas/groceries/diapers etc (you know ones' typical basic necessities) and I still have a good 8 days left.
Crap. Yes, I've been especially stressed...but, crap.
Apparently, the new fake diamond studded flip/flops from Target, New Moon and Princess and the Frog DVD's, Gap clothes, Micheal Buble' Cd, dining out expenses and gummy bear runs have taken a toll on the old checking account.
(Sorry Blair)
Hindsight says I should have possibly thrown in MLB Season ticket or something to please the husband and lesson the residual blow.
On a positive note...I could be shooting up smack or something...that would be way worse.
Sure hope my family enjoys Fruit Loops and canned Chili.
Hey - at least we can watch shirtless Jacob while we starve.

Amen to the Jacob comment! That makes everything better! If we had money, I'd so throw some your way! As it is, we're in pretty much the same boat. Sucks! But I have Jacob too! ;-)

Why is it that shopping just makes us feel better?!! Blair will get over it and your kids will probably love fruit loops for 8 days. it's like a vacation from veggies or something!

I am SO with you on this one! I totally get a "fake high" when I shop - but, at least I'm like you and only spend it on little things - Target is my friend and really they should start paying me because I shop there ALL the time:)

The funny things is, we'll probably do it again next month. Isn't this what moherhood is all about, giving our kids what they really want - cereal??!!
PS. I'm totally spending the night at the theater on June 29!
